Staying on Top of Your Emotions

When it comes to achieving all the things you want in life and getting the results you have always dream't of, there are many factors that are important to master. These include being motivated, having the discipline to follow through on your commitments, not giving up and being really driven. If you boil all of these factors down to one single element, it would be being able to control your emotions at all times and not being driven by how you feel at a given point in time.

We all have ups and downs in our lives and if we were to constantly be controlled by this roller-coaster ride of emotions we would never get anything done and sadly enough this is the sole reason why a lot of people never reach some of their biggest dreams in life. Every single time they decide that they are going to change things and finally reach their goals, their emotions get in the way and start coming up with excuses like "I am too tired now", "it is better go get started on this action plan tomorrow" or "It doesn't matter, I will never be able to reach my goal anyways".

We all know these kind of excuses and know how damaging they can be to our self improvement and us reaching the things we want out of life. Therefore one of the most important things you can teach yourself is to be able to control your emotions no matter how overwhelming they seem at a given point in time.

The best way to start learning self control is to know exactly why you are taking the action you want to take. This means that you know what you are working towards and are also well aware of both the rewards if you reach this given goal and the pain that is going to follow if you procrastinate and never get started on working towards your goal.

Every single time your brain starts coming up with excuses and you just don't feel like getting started you should just ignore those feelings and get started in spite of them. You have to remember that "I don't feel like it" is not a valid excuse for not taking action and working towards your goals. If you allow excuses like that to drive your life, you will end up feeling a lot of regret.
